Our Purpose & Vision

Our purpose is simple. It’s to abide by God’s commandments set forth in Isaiah 58 and;

“Loosen the chains of injustice”
“Set the oppressed free”
“Share [our] food with the hungry”
“Provide the poor wanderer with shelter”
“Clothe the naked”
and
“Spend [ourselves] in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed”

We strive to keep Christ at the center of all we do, allowing His vision for an ethical, transparent, and spiritually nurturing nonprofit foundation to take shape and grow. Nourished by the faith and goodwill of our community, we are grateful to grow as individuals and as a ministry, watching hospitality flourish like a mustard seed—watered by the love of a community we hold near and dear.

Who We Are

Mitch Livingston

Second Image

Raised in the foster care system from the age of six, Mitch experienced firsthand the instability, trauma, and lack of consistent support that many vulnerable individuals face. Moving through multiple foster and adoptive homes until adulthood, his early life exposed him to the harsh realities of systems that often fail the very people they are meant to protect.

Like many who grow up without stable foundations, he was led down difficult paths that included involvement with the justice system, homelessness, and substance use. Through these experiences, he gained a deep understanding of both the struggle and the gaps in social services—knowledge that would later shape his commitment to creating better, more compassionate systems of support.

Guided by faith and a belief in God’s purpose, Mitch dedicated his life to service over self-interest. As CEO of The S.P.I.N. Project, he leads with lived experience, humility, and conviction, building ethical and faith-centered solutions that restore dignity, stability, and hope to those navigating life’s hardest seasons.

Our Mission

Isaiah 58:7

Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

Our mission begins with obedience to God’s call to active compassion. We exist to serve the hungry, the unhoused, the vulnerable, and the overlooked by meeting tangible and spiritual needs with integrity, dignity, and love. Through stable housing support, ethical employment opportunities, counseling, and comprehensive case management, we seek to relieve the growing strain on Magic Valley social services while ensuring that no individual is reduced to a statistic or turned away in indifference. Every action we take is rooted in transparency, accountability, and a commitment to reflect God’s mercy through practical service.

Matthew 25:35-36

For I was hungry and you gave Me food;
I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;
I was a stranger and you brought Me together with yourselves and welcomed and entertained Me;
I was naked and you clothed Me;
I was sick and you visited Me;
I was in prison and you came to see Me.

We believe that serving others is not separate from serving Christ—it is serving Christ. Our foundation exists to welcome the stranger, restore dignity to the hurting, and walk alongside those facing crisis, incarceration, illness, or displacement. By placing God at the center of every decision, relationship, and program, we strive to create a spiritually nurturing environment where compassion is lived out daily. We are committed to meeting people where they are, offering support without judgment, and fostering pathways toward stability, restoration, and renewed purpose.

Leviticus 23:22

And when you reap the harvest of your land,
you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field…
You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger.
I am the Lord your God.

Guided by God’s command to leave provision for the poor and the foreigner, we intentionally design our work to create lasting opportunity rather than temporary relief alone. Our mission is to steward resources faithfully, ensuring that space is always left for those in need—those who fall through the cracks, arrive with nothing, or carry burdens unseen. By honoring God in our stewardship, partnerships, and service delivery, we aim to cultivate a foundation that reflects His justice, generosity, and enduring care for all people.
